Payin flow
Users pay you via ACH, Card, Wire, or RTP. Funds land in Balance #1 (Settlement Balance) and are settled to your bank every business day at T+3.

Top-up (priority)
Before any settlement is paid out, Breeze checks whether Payout Escrow is at or above the Minimum Balance. If it has fallen short, funds are allocated to top it up first.
Top-up takes priority over your settlementIf Settlement Balance is not enough to cover both, the entire amount goes to the escrow and no merchant settlement is made that day. See Every Settlement Day for a worked example.
Payout (withdrawal) flow
Users withdraw at any time via RTP, FedNow, Card, or ACH — funded from Balance #2 (Payout Escrow). Because the escrow is always maintained at or above the Minimum Balance, withdrawals are never gated by the T+3 cycle.
Withdrawals are always protectedThe top-up step happens before your merchant settlement, so your users can always withdraw regardless of where you are in the settlement cycle.
