Settlement FAQ

Why is my Settlement Balance high but Payout Escrow low?

Settlement Balance accumulates between settlement days while the Escrow is being drawn down by user withdrawals. They rebalance at the next T+3 settlement. See Your Balances for more.

Why was my settlement smaller than expected?

Part of your Settlement Balance was used to top up the escrow before settling the remainder to you. Your settlement confirmation shows both the top-up and your settlement amounts. See Every Settlement Day for the full logic.

What if Settlement Balance is not enough to top up AND settle to me?

Escrow top-up takes priority — all funds go to escrow and no merchant settlement is made that day. Settlement resumes once sufficient funds accumulate.

Why did I not receive a settlement today?

Either (1) it is a non-business day (weekends/holidays), or (2) all available funds were needed to top up the escrow. You will receive settlement on the next business day.

What if my payouts spike unexpectedly?

The 3-day buffer absorbs it. If the higher level is sustained, Minimum Balance adjusts upward at the next weekly recalculation. For extreme spikes, Breeze may request an additional top-up. See Minimum Balance for details.

What if my payouts consistently exceed my payins?

If you use multiple processors and Breeze handles a larger share of payouts than payins, you may need to periodically top up your Payout Escrow via wire transfer. Breeze will notify you proactively when a top-up is needed. Your top-up obligations are set out in your Merchant Agreement.

Can I change my settlement schedule?

Your settlement schedule is configured during onboarding and documented in your Merchant Agreement. Contact your account manager to adjust it.

How is the Minimum Balance different from a reserve?

A reserve is a hold on your funds. The Minimum Balance is a working buffer — it actively funds your users' withdrawals every day. The funds are not held back from you; they are deployed on your behalf. See Minimum Balance for more.

Where can I see my settlement history?

Your full settlement history is available in the dashboard and can be exported as a CSV.

Merchant Agreement

All settlement mechanics, Minimum Balance methodology, top-up obligations, and schedules are governed by your Merchant Agreement. In any discrepancy between this documentation and the Agreement, the Agreement prevails. Contact your account manager for specifics.
